About

I am an artist based in Leicester in the East Midlands of England. My practice began with drawing from a young age mainly of people and specialising in portraiture. I was also very much inspired by the style of comic art and superheroes and I used the techniques from this medium in the work I produced. I then moved on to experimenting with paint, predominantly water colour at first. Throughout the years I have always had a desire to make things using whatever craft or other technique that took my fancy whether it be altering clothes, making cushions relishing in learning the new skills involved moving on to the next exciting project, medium and technique.

Later on after some travelling and other life experiences I decided to go back to college to develop my skills further. I did a life drawing course to help work on my drawing skills and develop the way I expressed myself. A number of years later I then went on to study Fine Art (BA Hons) at De Montfort University, Leicester (2007-2013) and this is where I further developed my passion for ‘making things’ as my practice took on a sculptural route of expression. Using different craft techniques I explored colour, texture, repetion and  scale.

My work now has taken on a similar approach to before went back to studying in that I am no longer confined by time or the constraints of making work for the marks I will get for it. I take on new projects based on what is inspiring me at that time and then using the different techniques I have learned in my previous explorations to produce new work. These pages are to show what I have done in my practice of the years previously as well as show my practice as it develops into the future.
